The brief for this old church hall overlooking Victoria Park in East London was to create a spectacular family home. We were tasked with maximising the period features to keep it feeling authentic to its roots, but lifting it in to the 21st century designed for family life.
THE APPROACH
Maximise heritage features, whilst include new bespoke elements.
The approach taken was one of care and thought. Although, each room within the property was fully renovated, consideration was taken within every decision to ensure the heritage of the space and its roots were not forgotten.
The ground floor was split in to 3 main areas; an open-plan kitchen / dining area, a lounge with a marble fireplace and a salon space with a bar for entertaining, made up of bespoke materials. All 8 bathrooms in the property were redone, and a sauna and wet room were completed alongside a gym. The addition of a cinema room complete with bar is just one of the many features which ooze luxury within the private residence. Whilst, the period features which prevail, including the windows, were re-purposed allowing a flow of light and open space and a heritage feel.
Bespoke materials were used throughout to elevate this home beyond the ordinary. In the kitchen, copper finishes add richness and warmth, while the black onyx splash-back offers depth and sophistication. The iron staircase boasts intricate filigree and the crittall doors overlooking the courtyard are both strong in looks and longevity.

A one-of-a-kind family home, which will span generations.
The final result is a unique and stunning family home. Each room emulates personality with an understated sense of sophistication and maturity. The bespoke materials used throughout ensure this home will stand the test of time in both durability and design.
