A south-London family-home refurbished to an impeccable standard exuding class and refinement.
The homeowner wanted to create a homely sanctuary that balanced refinement, functionality and spaciousness. The existing property was already spacious but lacked clever storage solutions and the refined feel wanted by the homeowner. The challenge was to keep the space feeling airy and light, whilst integrating timeless design and an abundance of storage.
THE APPROACH
A classic and timeless redesign, incorporating intelligent storage and layout solutions.
The design approach incorporated the entire house, with each space seamlessly transitioning in to the next thanks to complimenting palettes and fittings. Large period doors throughout and a central staircase make the home feel grand and further evoke the classical tone which plays out in each room.
The kitchen embodies the essence of the approach, with the period character of the property pulling through from the choice of fixtures and fittings, space and light flooding through the sliding doors and clever use of space and storage with bespoke joinery throughout.
Upstairs, bedrooms are fitted with bespoke built-in wardrobes, integrated bedside storage, and clever storage solutions which seamlessly blend in to the space. The bathrooms show off personality and character, with an arched walk-in rainfall shower and deep tub exuding luxury, whilst the black and white tiles and red tub pushing more to the playful side.

The completed renovation has turned this family-home into a luxury and one-of-a-kind space, maintaining period features and adopting fresh and innovation design choices. By thoughtfully balancing period charm with modern enhancements, this Balham residence is now a stylish and serene haven in the heart of southwest London.
