Refurbishment and extension of a Maida Vale Victorian house.
THE BRIEF
THE BRIEF
Refurbishment and extension of a Maida Vale Victorian house.
The project involved refurbishing and extending a Victorian house in Maida Vale to suit an artistic, creative family. The brief was to create a minimalistic yet functional space that would serve everyday needs while offering a striking contrast between the traditional Victorian aesthetic and modern architectural lines.

THE APPROACH
Combine minimalistic design with rich, timeless materials for functional living.
Our approach was to balance the old with the new, respecting the home’s Victorian heritage while introducing sleek modern elements. The design incorporated new side and rear extensions, a pocket courtyard, and a terrazzo patio, creating a flow between the interior and exterior spaces. Terrazzo, with its rich history, offers a striking yet understated backdrop to the patio space, whist warm oak joinery brings warmth. Used together, the materials are carefully coordinated to create an effortless flow between the interior and exterior, enriching the overall feel of the home.
THE RESULT
Modern and minimalistic, exuding precise craftsmanship.
The final result is a beautifully reimagined Victorian home that blends modern design with the timeless charm of natural materials. The minimalistic layout creates a spacious and functional environment, while the thoughtful use of terrazzo and oak joinery adds richness and texture to every room. The result is a serene, artistic family home that balances modern luxury with historical elegance.
