The homeowner wanted to create a sanctuary that balanced warmth, functionality, and a sense of escape from her busy life. The existing property was compact and outdated, but with the potential for a loft extension and a more efficient layout. The challenge was to maximise space while enhancing natural light and storage, ensuring the home remained both stylish and practical.

The design approach centred around strategic spatial planning, extending into the loft to create an inviting attic bedroom with an en-suite. This new space features built-in wardrobes, integrated bedside storage, and skylights framed by tongue and groove clad ceilings, enhancing both function and aesthetics.
On the main floor, a reconfiguration of the existing layout allowed for an open-plan kitchen-diner and sitting room, maximising light and flow. Amory Brown’s design expertise played a key role in creating a seamless transition between spaces while ensuring a sense of openness. Vaulted ceilings further elevate the living experience, adding to the home’s airy and serene atmosphere.
Storage solutions were thoughtfully integrated throughout, including built-in cupboards, bookshelves on the landing, and under-banquette storage in the dining area. The loft conversion not only expanded the home’s footprint but also added much-needed functionality with two additional bedrooms and a shower room.
