The brief for this traditional terrace house in Kensal Rise was to create a modern family home that maximises space and functionality, while preserving the home's character. We were tasked with extending the ground floor to enhance the connection to the garden and bring in more natural light, all while ensuring the design remains warm, inviting, and perfect for family life.

Our approach focussed on blending the home's traditional charm with a modern design that enhances both the functionality and aesthetic appeal.
By extending the ground floor and optimising the layout, we created a seamless connection between the indoor living spaces and the garden, maximising natural light and flow. Materials and colours used keep the home feeling warm and inviting, with subtle contrasts including the exposed brick to update the look and feel. The kitchen island faces towards the garden to maximise functionality, but also offer a landscape view over the tranquility of the garden.
The design respects the home's heritage while introducing bespoke, contemporary elements that cater to the needs of a growing family.
