A once-dated De Beauvoir townhouse is now a modern family home, seamlessly integrating contemporary design with warmth and character.
The clients had lived in the property for many years and were ready to revamp their home to better suit their needs. The goal was to update both the aesthetic and the layout, creating a more functional, light-filled space. With the help of Miiodesign as lead architects and Kudos managing the construction, the renovation involved major structural changes, including extensions, reconfigured floor levels, and the transformation of an old bunker into a stylish studio outbuilding.

A full-scale renovation to enhance space, comfort, and energy efficiency.
The house underwent a comprehensive transformation, with two extensions added and the entire layout reworked. The renovation introduced a new open-plan kitchen on the ground floor, a master bedroom with a walk-through wardrobe and en-suite on the first floor, and beautifully landscaped front and rear gardens. The project also included stripping the property back to its brickwork to install new insulated plasterboard for improved energy efficiency. Additionally, floor joists were removed and repositioned to increase ceiling height on the ground floor, optimising the home’s spatial experience.

Completed in just under nine months—two weeks ahead of schedule—the renovation successfully transformed a tired property into a stylish and highly functional family home. The careful spatial planning, material choices, and seamless indoor-outdoor connections have created a warm yet contemporary living environment. Just in time for the arrival of their newest family member, the clients now enjoy a space that perfectly reflects their lifestyle and needs.
